Marwan Pleasant is a 21 year old fashion designer. Born and raised in New Orleans, Marwan has been an active participant in the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian culture since an early child, beading and putting together his own suits. About SRR he says, “Working on the Slave Rebellion project means a lot to me because it is similar to me working on one of my suits for Mardi Gras, both making costumes to pay homage to ancestors.”
