Karen-Kaia Livers
Community Outreach
Kaia is a veteran organizer and native New Orleanian. She is involved with many non-profit and community-based organizations such as Silence is Violence, the People’s Institute, and the Social Aid and Pleasure Club VIP Ladies & Kids. She is also an acclaimed actress known for her role on the HBO series Treme and the film Burning Cane. During Treme, she also utilized her talents of organizing to connect the program to local musicians and performers, and has since done production consultation on other film/tv projects such as Underground, American Horror Story, and 12 Years a Slave.
