Dorthy Ray
Project Coordinator
Dorthy Ray is a Louisiana native curator, photographer, and mixed media artist. She has a B.A. in Art History from Louisiana State University, and has participated in the development of programming for Saint Heron, Axiom Gallery, and Baton Rouge Gallery. With a passion for arts education, she has supported the educational efforts of New Orleans Museum of Art and is an instructor for Walls Project’s Futures Fund, a program offering training to middle and high school students to prepare them for jobs in the creative workforce. In 2020, she founded the New Church, an organization that seeks to challenge viewers to explore the ambiguities of identity, gender, and sexuality as they relate to the Black body.
